Potential hole of modified Pöschl-Teller type

The (modified) Pöschl-Teller potential is

The movie shows a superposition of eigenfunctions with quantum numbers 0,1,2 and 5. The parameters for the potential are lambda = 7 and alpha = 1. We use dimensionless units with mass and Planck's constant both equal to 1. For integer values of lambda and alpha, the motion is periodic with period 4pi.

The next movies show the dependence of the bound states on the parameters lambda and alpha.
